Global Diamond Leaders Gather in Singapore for 41st World Congress

41st World Diamond Congress to Gather Global Natural Diamond Industry in Singapore

The international natural diamond industry will assemble in Singapore from July 12 to 15, 2026 for the 41st World Diamond Congress, one of the sector’s most important global events. This congress brings together representatives from every stage of the diamond value chain — from mining and cutting to trading, manufacturing and retail — to discuss the sector’s future, emerging challenges and shared opportunities for sustainable growth.

Jointly organised by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), the World Diamond Congress serves as the industry’s premier forum for constructive dialogue, collaborative problem-solving and international policy development. The event provides a structured setting where stakeholders can identify priorities, align strategies and propose practical steps to strengthen the global natural diamond trade.

The opening ceremony will include remarks from senior government officials of two major diamond-producing countries, underlining the event’s international significance. Confirmed speakers include Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, Botswana’s Minister of Minerals and Energy, and Dr. Janio da Rosa Correa Victor, Angola’s Secretary of State for Mineral Resources. Their participation highlights the increasing focus on cooperation between producing nations and the broader diamond market, particularly on topics such as responsible mining practices, community development and regulatory alignment.

Delegates will include industry executives, mining company representatives, manufacturers, traders and leaders of diamond bourses from across the globe. Key discussion themes are expected to include market resilience and strategies to sustain and strengthen consumer demand for natural diamonds; the implementation and verification of responsible sourcing practices; steps to build and maintain consumer confidence; and broader sustainability initiatives covering environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations.

WFDB President Yoram Dvash has emphasized the singular role of the World Diamond Congress as the only forum that convenes all segments of the natural diamond sector to address shared priorities. As market dynamics evolve and new technologies and consumer tastes reshape the industry landscape, coordinated action and multilateral cooperation are increasingly essential to ensure a robust, resilient and sustainable future for natural diamonds.

First established in 1947, the World Diamond Congress has historically met every three years and remains the highest-level international gathering for the industry. Over its long history, the congress has been instrumental in shaping policy, fostering cross-border cooperation across the supply chain and addressing the practical issues that affect the trade in natural diamonds. It continues to serve as a platform where experienced participants and emerging leaders alike can exchange perspectives and advance collective priorities.

The 2026 edition in Singapore will offer a focused opportunity for leadership to exchange ideas, forge partnerships and develop coordinated strategies. Sessions will likely address practical solutions for enhancing supply chain transparency, encouraging responsible investment, and pursuing initiatives that protect both the integrity of natural diamonds and the interests of communities connected to the industry. The congress will also provide a setting to explore how the trade can adapt to shifting consumer expectations while preserving the unique appeal and value proposition of natural diamonds.

Attendees can expect a programme of keynote speeches, panel discussions and working sessions designed to produce actionable recommendations that can be implemented across jurisdictions and industry segments. By promoting dialogue among producers, manufacturers, bourses and other stakeholders, the World Diamond Congress aims to strengthen international cooperation and support the continued competitiveness and sustainable growth of the natural diamond sector in an increasingly dynamic global marketplace.
