GJEPC Boosts IIJS Bharat 2026 Reach With Retailers in Coimbatore

IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026: GJEPC Hosts Retailers’ Connect in Coimbatore

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) advanced its nationwide promotional campaign for IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026 by organising a focused Retailers’ Connect programme in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on June 30. The event attracted close to 80 participants including jewellery retailers, manufacturers, exporters and other industry professionals, offering a platform to discuss practical business opportunities and to encourage stronger participation in India’s flagship B2B gem and jewellery exhibition.

Hosted in partnership with the Coimbatore Jewellers Association and the Coimbatore Jewellers Manufacturers Association, the programme formed a strategic part of GJEPC’s efforts to engage regional jewellery hubs and boost industry readiness ahead of IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026. The collaboration underscored the Council’s intent to reach local clusters and ensure that small and medium enterprises are well informed about the commercial potential available through international sourcing events.

Opening the meeting, K. Srinivasan, Convenor of GJEPC’s Gold Panel, welcomed attendees and set the tone by underlining the growing export potential for Indian jewellery businesses. He encouraged retailers and manufacturers to explore overseas markets and explained how GJEPC’s targeted initiatives can help firms expand their global footprint. His address highlighted actionable steps for businesses to evaluate export opportunities and to align product development with international demand.

Industry leaders present included Sabarinath B., President of the Coimbatore Jewellers Association and the Tamil Nadu Jewellers Federation (TNJF), and Muthuvenkatram B., President of the Coimbatore Jewellers Manufacturers Association. Both speakers stressed the importance of collaboration among local stakeholders—retailers, manufacturers and exporters—and welcomed a growing emphasis on export-led growth in the region. They noted that stronger cooperation can help local firms leverage collective strengths, from supply chains to design capabilities.

A central component of the programme was a detailed presentation by Mansukh Kothari, GJEPC Convenor for Events, who outlined the scope and significance of IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026. Mr. Kothari provided an overview of the exhibition’s role as a leading international sourcing platform that connects Indian exhibitors with domestic and overseas buyers. His presentation explained how exhibitors can showcase products, discover new leads, and enter new markets by engaging with buyers, designers and trade visitors at the event.

The session also put strong emphasis on export readiness for small and medium-sized enterprises. Surya Narayan, Director – Southern Region, GJEPC, briefed attendees on the specific export opportunities available to MSMEs and detailed the Council’s support mechanisms. These initiatives included capacity-building measures, market intelligence, and practical guidance to improve competitiveness and meet international standards. Mr. Narayan stressed how structured support can help smaller firms overcome common export barriers and scale up operations sustainably.

Participants had the chance to ask questions and discuss practical concerns such as documentation, quality control, international buyer expectations and logistical considerations. These interactive exchanges provided clarity on how to navigate export procedures and how to position product offerings for global appeal. The open dialogue helped demystify the steps required to prepare for international trade and increased attendee confidence in pursuing export opportunities.

Coimbatore’s jewellery community responded enthusiastically, reflecting the region’s rising interest in international trade and export-driven business models. Attendees appreciated the targeted information on IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026, recognizing the exhibition as a strategic venue for business networking, product display, and direct engagement with buyers from across the globe. Many expressed intent to participate in the upcoming event and to adopt recommended best practices to enhance marketability abroad.

Through the Retailers’ Connect initiative, GJEPC is deepening engagement with regional jewellery clusters and ensuring that businesses across India are positioned to benefit from the commercial opportunities presented by IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026. By focusing on export readiness, capacity building and stronger local collaboration, the Council aims to help Indian gems and jewellery makers and traders convert broader global demand into sustainable business growth while showcasing India’s craftsmanship on an international stage.

The Coimbatore programme reinforced GJEPC’s commitment to supporting the industry at the grassroots level, offering practical tools and information that empower retailers and manufacturers to expand beyond domestic markets. With IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026 on the horizon, these regional outreach efforts play a vital role in preparing participants to make the most of global trade opportunities and to elevate India’s presence in the world jewellery marketplace.
